DIY Breakable Chocolate Heart

For Valentine's Day this year, my big surprise for my little ones was a large breakable chocolate heart that I filled with jelly beans and hatchimal toys! It was a big hit! This chocolate heart box is a great no-bake DIY edible project that really doesn't require any prior practice or skills to create something extraordinary from the heart.

I added sprinkles and candy hearts for decoration and to add that "special touch"

Here's what you need to make this pretty 3D Chocolate Heart:

Optional:

  • piping bag or candy melt bottle to drizzle the top

  • sprinkles

  • candy hearts

Step One: Melt your candy melts according to directions on the package and pour into your heart mold. Make a thin layer all around the mold using a spatula. pour out any access. Refrigerate for about 10-20 minutes. Keep candy melts on warm mode on your chocomaker while waiting.

Step Two: Add more melted chocolate in the mold and spread evenly carefully painting sides with a spatula. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes. Once set and cooled remove from the mold and repeat to make the bottom.

Step Three: Assemble the heart: Heat a non stick frying pan on low heat (or use a microwavable plate and heat) and place the top of the heart on the pan to melt slightly. Repeat if necessary to make smooth seams. Assemble the heart and seal together with a thin line of melted chocolate, using a piping bag. Decorate!

If you make these, I would love to see your creations!
